Robbie Fraser has made four cinema documentaries: The Bridge Rising about the Skye Bridge protest movement; Family Goldmine, shot in Mali over three years and telling the story of an idealistic French would-be gold miner; Hamish, a portrait of the Scottish poet and cultural lightning rod Hamish Henderson; and Final Ascent, about the legendary mountaineer Hamish MacInnes, released in UK cinemas in 2019 and winner of Best Story at the Bilbao Mendi Film Festival 2019. His latest film Pictures From Afghanistan about the war photographer David Pratt was shot in Glasgow and Kabul and premiered at the Glasgow Film Festival in 2020.
He is currently producing through his new company Dulcimer Films and has both television and international cinema documentary projects in active development, with support from the BBC and Creative Scotland.
