moving from Film to TV Drama

Ed Clarke is an Executive Producer in Film and TV. Most recently, he was a Producer of The Electrical Life of Louis Wain starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Claire Foy for Studio Canal / Film Four / Amazon – a script that he found and developed whilst Head of Film & TV at Shoebox Films (Joe Wright, Paul Webster and Guy Heeley’s production company). At the end of 2021, he was an Executive Producer of the 6-part thriller Close to Me starring Connie Nielsen and Chris Eccleston for Viaplay / Channel 4 – a show he developed whilst building a slate of films and TV series for the actor clients of The Artists Partnership talent agency. He is also an EP on the feminist horror film She Will, which won best first feature for its director Charlotte Colbert at Locarno in 2021.

Prior to Shoebox, Ed was Head of Film Development for Kudos Film and TV and their joint venture with New Regency in LA, Shine Pictures, where he worked on the features Salmon Fishing in the Yemen and Brighton Rock. And before Kudos, he was Head of Development and Acquisitions for blue-chip sales and finance group Capitol Films. Ed is a graduate of the UK’s National Film and TV School three-year Producer Programme, and the author of four middle grade children’s books, published by Penguin and Hachette.
