Gary Torbett heads up the Financial Readiness Team in Scottish Enterprise, having joined in 2012 after almost 30 years in banking. The Financial Readiness service is provided by a small team of specialists with considerable experience in accessing finance. They provide guidance, support, access to their networks and coaching to businesses who are seeking to grow and require assistance in preparing themselves to approach the most appropriate funders for their journey. The Scottish Investment Bank (SIB) is the investment arm of Scottish Enterprise, Scotland's main economic development agency. SIB’s remit is to grow Scotland’s early stage funding market to ensure that both early stage and established SMEs with growth and export potential have adequate access to growth capital to generate economic returns to Scotland. They are widely recognised as one of Europe’s most innovative and active public sector investment agencies, with an impressive track record of raising substantial European funds to invest in exciting Scottish companies.
