We’re a riot of stories: creating friction, making energy. We work with people who’ve fought to get their voices heard. We are tenacious, commercially focussed and award-winning. We shine a light in dark places, illuminating crucial stories for the times we live in.

Riot Productions has been in business since 2016. Siobhan set it up to produce their main project so far, the feature documentary Rebel Dykes Dir. Harri Shanahan and Sian Williams. Rebel Dykes was supported by Screen Scotland and Independent Film Trust. It was released theatrically November 2021 by BFI, it is available on all the major streamers, and had its broadcast premiere on 29th June 2022 on Channel 4.

Riot Productions co-produced My Loneliness Is Killing Me Dir. Tim Courtney, which was the first BAFTA Scotland winning short film with a queer theme (2018).

Christopher McGill joined the company in 2020, bringing his award-winning experience as a director who has worked across documentary and narrative. In 2021 Chris was shortlisted for a Grierson for IS IT ME (2021) which premiered at Fantasia 2021. Over the past 12 months, Christopher and Siobhan have produced and directed five exciting short films.  They are in development with a number of high end TV and film projects which they will be taking forward over the next two years.
