Black Camel Pictures is a Scottish based television, film and content production company overseen by two dynamic producers Arabella Page Croft & Kieran Parker. Black Camel are at the forefront of film and television development & production in Scotland. The company has a slate deal with All3Media International and multi project deal with national screen agency – Screen Scotland.
The company are setting up their new drama series Annika starring Nicola Walker with UKTV, All3Media International and Screen Scotland on board. Production is slated for January 2021. Adapted from the BBC Radio 4 hit show Annika Stranded by Nick Walker.
Black Camel are setting up Float, their young adult comedy drama series about a group of lifeguards in the west of Scotland. Commissioned by BBC iplayer from a pilot which was shot in 2019.
IN PRODUCTION
Black Camel are currently in production for Sky with a twenty-episode animation and live action series The Brilliant World of Tom Gates. The show is adapted from the best-selling (11 million in the English language), eighteen book series by Liz Pichon. Bafta winner, Ben Ward is Head Writer, George Sawyer is Series Director.
IN POST-PRODUCTION
The company is post production with an opera based romantic comedy Falling For Figaro (2020) starring Joanna Lumley, Danielle Macdonald and Hugh Skinner. The film, directed by Ben Lewin (The Sessions) shot in the highlands of Scotland and Glasgow in early 2019 for six weeks. The film is expected to have a wide theatrical release in the UK.
Black Camel have also just completed Off The Rails (2019) a joyful, all female road-movie starring Judi Dench, Kelly Preston (her last film) Sally Phillips and Jenny Seagrove. The film shot in Majorca and London in 2019, was directed by Jules Williamson, and is awaiting theatrical release in UK, Australia, Spain and the US post Covid 19.
Black Camel co-produced psychological thriller Marionette (2018) starring Peter Mullan, Thekla Reuten, Bill Paterson and Rebecca Front. The film, directed by Elbert Van Strein, shot in Scotland and Luxembourg and post-produced in the Netherlands. It is slated for release 2021 post Covid-19.

The hit teen Christmas Zombie Musical, Anna And The Apocalypse (2018) was originated and developed by Black Camel.
The Majorca set action horror The Rezort (2015) acquired by Netflix was executive and co-produced by Black Camel and directed by Black Camel’s long-term director /collaborator Steve Barker (Outpost 1 & 2).
Black Camel co-produced BBC single drama Castles In The Sky (2014) helmed by Eddie Izzard & Laura Fraser was a biopic about the Scottish inventor Robert Watson Watt who pioneered radar which was a significant turning point in the Battle of Britain.
UK hit musical Sunshine On Leith (2013) was originated and produced by Black Camel and directed by Dexter Fletcher. This beautiful, funny and heartfelt film starred Jane Horrocks and Peter Mullan and was inspired by the uplifting music of the Scottish band The Proclaimers.
Black Camel produced their energetic and gory, action horror trilogy Outpost (2008) with sequels Outpost: Black Sun (2011) and Outpost: Rise Of The Spetnaz (2013) starring Ray Stevenson and Richard Coyle. The successful franchise also spawned a video game app and comic book.
Their US set, psychological thriller Legacy (2010) starred Idris Elba and Clarke Peters and was directed by Thomas Ikimi and received a UK and US theatrical release. The film premiered at New York’s Tribeca Film Festival and won the American Black Film Festival.
